Connecting Residents

2. Connecting Residents

The Problem:

Very few 'Estates' or 'Areas' have a formal Residents Associations or Residents Group with a Facebook Page or Website. Combined, these existing Facebook Pages connect with less than 30% of the resident population and therefore we are possibly not engaging with the majority of our residents online.

A Solution:

We are proposing to promote ‘Navan South Communities Unite Facebook Page’ as the Main Johnstown Residents Information Page. Join them now to see for yourselves. If you or your residents fail to gain membership they can message the Page directly to re apply.

As a members only group the intention to ensure it is only for local residents and highlighting relevant local issues. Residents must show a connection to the area within their Facebook Profile to become a member. With a Local resident reach of 900 members it has a larger following than any other local "residents" Facebook Page.

It already hosts most notices from all of our existing Estate pages such as those from the Garda, any antisocial behaviour, Neighbourhood Watch, lost & found, positive activities, local events etc.

Each area should retain and maintain it's own local estate Pages, Websites, Text Alert, Email or other networks as a means of engaging directly with their own residents.

Anything that is of common interest to all residents can be shared with N.S.C.U. and save everyone having to join and follow each site individually.

A marketing campaign is being devised that we will be asking you to consider sharing within your individual groups.
