Johnstown Tidy Towns has again provided the lighting for the trees on the main green and also at the estate entrance. Erected by resident volunteers these will stay up over Christmas.

An opportunity has come up which requires rapid feedback from Residents - there's no cost but we want feedback before committing to a project.

All responses received to the proposal below were positive, with no objections received, and the Lighting Feature has been installed.
We have long thought that LED lights on the 7 trees which form a ring on the Main Green would provide a welcome feature over the dark Winter evenings until Spring.
This year Johnstown Tidy Towns are willing to provide battery powered warm white LED lights which would operate for 6 hours each evening. There are only enough lights for the 7 tree trunks but not the tree branches. Being a dark spot, without nearby street lights, the battery lights will create a great feature that is noticeable yet not overbearing.
We would like to accept the offer and ask you to reply to the Neighbourhood Watch text message with either 'Yes' or 'No'.
If the general consensus is to approve the project the lights will be erected this weekend (Dec 12th) and switched on shortly after.
